Hi gents

Ive recently rebuilt my blaster engine. new piston, conrod, crank and bearings. I started it today just to see if it would start and it started with the second kick. I want to start the breakin but my exhuat sounds as if there is somthing lose inside. Tried to shake it out and have a look but it is stuck inside. Wil this have a negative impact on the breakin process?

Is it the stock header, or an aftermarket one?

What was the problem with the engine before it was re built?

It is still stock exhaust from front to back.

The guy who owned it before me messed up the piston and sleeve

The stock header has some type of noise reduction material inside, sometimes it breaks free, and makes a noise.

There is a chance that it may block the system and should be removed.

If the old piston was in one piece there will be no chance of any of it being in the exhaust, if it was broken there may be some piston bits in the header and that may be causing the rattle.

In either case it would be a good idea to remove the offending bits or replace the header with one that will wake the engine up!

Do i have to do jetting if i install an fmf power core 2 exhaust?

If you install the full FMF system, the answer is yes you need to re jet.

If you only use the silencer, it would pay to plug chop to confirm jetting, as back pressures will change.

Question, have you leak tested the engine since re build?

you can cut the baffle out of stock exhaust header then weld trap door closed..
but i would get a fmf.if you got the money if not,you need to fix your stock one,it will make it hard to jet the carb,and run like crap,if something is blocking the exhaust flow

If something has broke loose in the header, than there might be increased airflow which would require jetting anyway
