i cant freakin stop the flange from leaking!!!!!!! its leaking between the flange and cylinder head. its leaking far less than it was when i first pput it on, but its still leaking!. i tried ev erything. between strighting the fllang cause it was bent, and putting a gasket on, but still leaks. should i just buy a new flange, grind the bottom down so its perfectally flat agenst the cylinder head or what???

I would get some high temp copper silicone and put it on there to see if that helps it out a bit.

like the flange is a little bent. should i grind it down to where its complety flat, and take the gasket off and try it, or leav the gasket on, where can i get the silicone? home depot?

what exactly are you using for a gasket right now? the stock donut? or the other type that you were looking at?

throw some RTV the flange and give it another go. try to get it as straight as possible though before putting it on

Without using a surface grinder you aren't going to get it real flat. Make sure all parts are free from oil, etc. apply silicon to both/all surfaces , assemble pieces, tighten to 90/95%, let cure/dry 24 hrs minimum, finish tightening nuts.

Also, check to make sure that your not bottoming the nuts out on the studs. When I first did my aftermarket flange I had a small leak as well. I ended up using 2 washers per side so the nuts didn't bottom out, havet had a problem since.

good call! i have seen that a time or two.

ok ill try that. i have an angle grinder btw. i tried to just bent it back with a rubber mallet and a vice and sh*t, but i was only able to get it so far. also, i cleaned bothe surfaces so well, i woould eat off them I:I lol. and as for bottoming out the nuts, i also have 2 wasers on there, so it wont bottom them out. otherwise it would.

thanks for the help. ima try this today! see how it goes I:I

I had gasket material laying around here. So I took the flange off and traced it onto the material and cut it out. I then took some aluminum heat tape I had laying around and sandwiched the gasket I made between two pieces of that. I then cut that around my gasket. I then used the copper hi temp silicone sealer I got from and auto parts store and coated both sides of my gasket. I then assembeled it and let it sit for a day or two. I havent had any leaks since. It sounds a little involved but it really only took about 45 min start to finish. I was fortunate to be a pack rat and had some of the items laying around from other projects.
