Ok...I have a 1994 Blaster thats completely stock with the exception of a Keihin carb(I'm not sure which one). I've only ran it about 6 times since I bought it in the Spring. Its always started fine and ran beautifully, except for the time I ran out of gas. Then, I was trying to go up a steep incline just to see how far up I could get. After about ten tries, I ended up sideways and the quad rolled one and a half times.

After about 15-20 minutes, I tried to start it. It fired right up and I got maybe 20 feet and it died. Then I tried again, fired right up, hit the gas, and it died. It did that a couple more times, so I decided to get it home and mess with it. That night after a couple of kicks it started, but the second I gave it gas, it died. The next day...and everyday since...it wont even start. I checked the airfilter and tried to start it with the box open to let it breathe...nothing. I took the carb off, thinking some dirt may have clogged the jets after I rolled it, cleaned it, and still...nothing. I changed the plug for sh*ts and giggles, checked for spark, and got a decent shock. Plugged it in...still nothing.

There is snow on my property and I want to ride, but I have no clue what to do next....help?

Did you take the carb apart and clean it really good? Blasters are a pain in the a$$ to start when its really cold. I just rode mine but it took like 110 kicks to start.

Yeah, took it completly apart and cleaned the hell out of it. The floats looked fine too. I live in Northern California, and when I tried to start it in August, it was about 95 degrees, it wouldn't start, same in Sept. when it was 80, and Oct. when it was 70. I know that the temp has a lot to do with the way it runs, but no matter what temp, I cant get it to bump.

I wonder what could have happened after I rolled it to cause this problem. A reed? The exhaust pipe is starting to rust (hope to get a new one this month), could a crack in the pipe affect the starting? I didnt think so, but I am running out of ideas.

Its something with your fuel, check your fuel line for holes, take both jets out of the carb n make sure there clear, make sure your fuels turned on also sometimes its easy to overlook little stuff

Fuel is on, jets are clean (I took apart and cleaned the carb completly last week.) I pulled off the fuel line from the carb, and gas started gushing out. I read on another post that a clogged exhaust could cause the bike to not start. Is it worth it to temporarily disconnect the exhaust to see if it will start?

I think I oughtta triple check the floats...That would explain why it started immediatly after, then would die...cause the fuel in the float tank was allowing it to start, but not run, then once that was gone...no more starting. I cant wait to waste the time to do this again, just to put it back together and have the same problem. But so far thats all that fits.

Just took the carb apart and cleaned it out...AGAIN. Nothing. F@cking Pissed off right now. Just like last time, when I took the Carb off, it was full of gas, so I guess I can rule out the float. Also checked the reeds while the carb was off, and they were all in tact as far as I could tell. If it is compression, how do I fix it, take it to a shop?

Hot(power) side of the lighting coil shorted to ground? Hot side of the kill switch shorted? Kill switch on run? If your getting spark, gas and air then it should fire assumeing you have enough compression and the timming is right. Mine ran at 75psi, then sorta at 50, but not at all at 21psi.

I would say the next step would be check your compression.

What about a bad CDI?

sounds electrical to me.
i had this problem once when a wire under the tank of my rm125 came unplugged, it ran ok for just a little while, then ran bad and would die.
check all your connections under the tank and around the frame.
compression wont all of a sudden go out.
check all connections and go from there

It is on run, I did a quick check of all the connections. I assumed it wasnt electrical because I have spark. Is there a website where I could get a wiring diagram? Are there any inline fuses that could cause this? Like I said, I ruled out electrical because I have spark, but a wire could definately come loose after I rolled it.

Yeah I've learned that even though you have spark, a wire shorted would still prevent it from running. I know when I first got my blaster it had no lights on it and someone had the headlight switch wired as the kill switch instead of the key switch, that took me a while to figure out.

As far as a diagram, I found these

when I was searching how to rewire mine.

Hope this helps

Oh yeah, compression wouldn't go out real fast unless what happend to me was it was running and then the piston ring caught on the exhaust opening breaking it and then leaving no compression(21psi), just a thought.

The piston cauht on the exhaust opening would SUCK! I hope its the wiring...you sending those diagrams was HUGE. Thanks a ton. Wish me luck.
