Ok... quad runs great... a couple times today while riding, it would rev up full throttle stuck wide open.. like what happens when it runs out of gas (tank is half full though). but the thumb throttle was closed. I understand it could be the carb sticking, fine.... but why would neither kill switch work to turn it off???... I held the breaks and dumped clutch to kill... started it back up, running fine and both kill switches work fine again also???????? I don't get it.. it happened again a little later. is running fine at the moment, but I want to fix the problem before I take it out far. am going to rebuild carb tomorrow to make sure. Is there any one thing that could cause both these problems at the same time? could it be the CDI maybe? anything else???

I had a similar problem with my RM it turned out that the carb was leaning out. (Ive herd this condition referd to as dieseling) As far as nether kill swich working. The kill swich works by shorting out the coil. At a hi rpm has a hard time shorting.

Ok cool... makes since... I figured it was the carb on the over rev but the non-cut out stumped me. lol. plus I don't trust the cdi box or anything else that is unable to trouble shoot.. so anything electrical that goes wrong, I automatically know what it is.. . CDI!!! hahahahah..

so leaning out is lack of fuel and too much air I assume... sounds like another carb jet cleaning to do ;-( guess I need to give my air filter some attention.. maybe old gas change also.. thanks for info.

it use to work fone but i will check them

yeah, I would check the black ground bullet connection that comes out of the motor, it is a chassis ground also from the stator. on my other blaster, this is the only frame ground I have hooked up and all other grounds tie together to it.. and it all works fine.

yep give the carb a good cleaning and inspect it. The petcock also I believe has a strainer on it. Clean it often gets over looked. About the same problem happend to a friend of mine on his banshee as well. Sent a rod through the block! He also tried killing it with the kill switch he didnt thank of stalling it out costly mistake. Good thinking on your part!
