I am looking to find the specs on the jug and head, specifically the bolt spacing that bolts them on. I have a crazy idea of the possibility of using another jug and head off a Honda 250r air cooled 84 three wheeler. I am thinking if by chance the bolt pattern was the same I could use it with the Honda piston and possibly a custom crank. I have a R that has a broken case so I figure I might be able to use something off it and make the 98 Blaster I have faster. I am also planning to look at the rear hydro brake system and rear shock on it B-)

I agree you are probably right, but can you tell me why it wont work ? Do you have specs on the jug/head ?

Anyone else wanna chime in ? What is the major stumbling block with this working ? Is it as I suspect and the jug bolt spread or something else ? I have found that the Blaster has a bore and stroke of 66 x 57 and the R has a bore and stroke of 70 x 64.4

if it bolted up which im almost positive it wouldnt the n for the ports to line up at tdc and bdc and have a correct squish clearance you would need a custom crank and also custom piston ,the aftermaket crank would need ot fit in the yamaha blaster cases wit ha +7mm stroke(and wont fit even in trenched cases) so thats 400$ for one ot be made right there then theres a modifed cut 70mm piston that can account for the longer rod and equate to the right deck height probably another 200 bucks there the nthe custom cut gasket and possibly a head rechambering all to have an ancient 1984 port design layout that wont even make as much hp as a simple big bore 72mm blaster kit can make ...trust me the old hondas are poor at best a vito jug is actually a big improvment over the old air cooled hondas

Ok thanks for letting me pick your brain, I knew somebody had the knowledge to dispell the crazy thought from my head. Looks like Vitos is the only big bore kit for these rides>?

The best out there is the L.A. sleeve sonic 240 then Airsal phantom 240,then vito's 12 port 240, then L.A. sleeve's 240 sleeve kit in a stock cylinder. But they all need some porting to reach their full potenial.

yup seems like the general consensus is that the port and polish job is the single most important mod to be had.
