hey guys i just bought a hunk of junk with a engine in it... rite now its all stock but dont run...tryed putting a new piston n rings in it but i figured out the cylinder is just wrecked.I:I

regardless im going to bore it .080 over and replace every gasket and bearing in the thing as well as the clutch..any idea on clutch kits?:-/

so im just tryin to get advice as to who has the best bottom end rebuild kit as far as brand names.... im thinking of going with Namura .080 over piston kit off ebay Namura Piston Top End Kit Yamaha Blaster 200 88-06 .080 - eBay (item 330513054759 end time Apr-27-11 20:37:49 PDT) and probably a bottom end kit off there too depending on wut u guys think...:-/

another thing im wondering is do they make any sort of aftermaket cooling kit for these blasters?...obviously its air cooled but could i get like a fan or even hook up a water cooled system some how? might sound stupid lol but just a thought...

alright guys let me know wut u think and thanks for the help.:D

ok lets see here.. for a clutch just about any one would do you good on a stock motor if u ever want to mod it up i really like the barnett dirt digger. i would spend teh few extra bucks and get the wiseco kit over the namura. the namura pistons are cast where as the wisecos are forged. definately stay away from the complete wiseco bottom end kit, get a hotrods kit instead if u wanna stay stock or a vitos +3 is a decent mod.

thanks man i also forgot to ask wut size jets should i use on a stock carb for something bored .080-.090 over?

whats the bore at now??? You only want to go up 1 bore sixe EX: .10-.20

If you only need to replace the clutch plates/friction plates there not that much...could get them for around $100...but if you need the whole thing dont cheap out, and get the whole kit...basket and all...(DUH) haha

replacing all the bearings will be pretty damn expensive...not to sure how much, but know its alot haha...

and as far as jetting it all depends on what your mods,location,elevation...

The blaster is air cooled, and its going to stay that way my friend...not much you can do to assist with the cooling...

that cylinder is on its last bore bro, if i was u i would have a 240 sleeve put in it and just go for the gusto from the get go!! talk to ken if u want to do the 240 sleeve, but if ur just trying to get something beat the guts out of then bore it. and if i was u i would go with all balls or hot rod bearings and rebuild kits. and cometic head and base gaskets, DO NOT use the sh*tty vitos, trust me been there done that...while u have the bottom end apart, throw a +3 stroker in it. dont know what ur funds are like but i can tell u this there is nothing like a 240 stroked motor on a blaster. and cast pistons are fine, just dont use a namura, if u get a cast piston get a vitos, last i checked forged pistons are out of stock and backordered for quite some time...

Indeed^^^^
Personally I'd wait for a forged piston from wiseco. If you want to help out the cooling you can make some air scoops for it to help direct air flow, there's a DIY thread on here for it, or buy a set for pretty cheap. And there is nothing like a +3 crank in a blaster, I can't wait to get mine finished from what I've heard/seen

Why do you say only go up one size?

I'm just trying to build something cheap to whoop on....like I said I bought the thing for 60$ lol...so I figured just bore the sh*t out of it throw a monster piston in it and call it a day....what problems do you think I'll run into?

Because if you are on a stock bore and need a rebuild it's absolutely pointless to bore it to 0.080 over when you could just bore it 0.010-0.020 over and save yourself from resleeving the entire cylinder the next time you need a rebuild. We are talking hundreths of an inch here. You need to know what the current bore is first though and then you will know what size oversized piston you need to get.

Boring it 0.080 over will do absolutely nothing in terms of power.....it's just a small bore change to fit an oversized piston on Blasters getting rebuilt like their 6th time. Even 240cc kits do very little in terms of power from the displacement alone......maybe 2hp change.......max. The extra power comes from porting not boring.

Alright...so where can I get it posted just any machine shop?...and how much should I spend on that

Aright thanks for the help....and it's the stock bore rite now and it's trashed so maybe I'll just go with a .020 over piston

i would take the jug to the shop that is going to bore and and let them tell you how far it needs to go, sure would suck to get a .20 and have it need a .30 or whatever
