Engine Rebuild

Mmmm nice EB.

Like what was already said, order an oversize piston kit, like a 66.5 wiseco kit. The take the Piston and jug to a motorcycle or marine engine machine shop to have them fit it. A new gasket kit and your good to go.

Thanks for the kind words guys - I'm up by Taylors Falls area, so about dead center in the state. I'll take pics of the project as I go along, I've got a full gasket kit and I'm going to pickup some crank seals. I'm short a silencer for this bad boy - but I think I can score what I need off CL.

Motor is back together - final overbore was .080 with a Wiseco piston. Got it running briefly and shut it doen as I'm lacking a muffler. This afternoon I'm going to pickup a DG header and stock muffler and get it moving. I'm not using the oil injection so I've got some 24:1 gas mixed up and I'll run the tank through it below half throttle. Excited to get this thing running - fired right up after we got it together, I'm sure the neighbors loved that at 11PM :P

If no one has told you yet there should be some numbers on the top of the piston. You might have to hit it with some sand paper to see them if it is really black which it probably is from the sound of the last guy. you are looking for something like 66.00 or 66.50 just hopefully it is under 68.25 which is the largest you can bore the stock sleeve as far as I know. then buy a weisco FORGED piston .50 larger than the number on your burnt up piston. Take it to a good machine shop with the new piston and have it bored. If there are no numbers you can find, any machine shop will measure it for you. then buy that .50 over the size the tell you. You can find all sizes with the stuff you will need on ebay.

Already overbored, together with a Wesico piston and out and running. Broke the clutch cable during the engine break-in today... This thing is fast though - running 24:1 fuel to help the break-in.
