ENGINE PROBLEM! Please help

Ok, I found a guy on CL who will measure it for me. I will follow those tolerances and if it needs any more I will just bore it. What is the max that you can bore the cylinder? I'm already at .4 over

So I'm at 67mm, .40 over, what would my next bore be? And what are the incriments that you jump up? Could I do 67.25mm?? Just don't want to max it our right away

Yes, the next bore would be 67.25 but that depends on the condition of your cylinder. Sometimes you have to go up more than one bore size to correct the damage to the cylinder.

ok, i guess i didnt even think about that. I guess my next step is to get the cylinder measured. also, when I opened up the head, I noticed chunks of metal on the top of the cylinder, and i had 1 big piece of metal it was really thing but about the size of a quarter and a little wider, I looked all over the head and ports and couldnt see where it might have came from, any ideas? It was sitting on top of the cylinder IDK if its been there the whole time as I just bought it about 4 months ago but the shear size of the piece of metal has me a bit worried n curious i inspected the head and it doesnt look to have come from there either

Whooo Hoooo, have you been able to look at the skirt of the piston yet?

If the piston has dropped its guts, then you are in for more than a top end, you will have to split the cases and proceed from there.

I inspected the ports on the cylinder it looked like a DIY port job. I have a hard time believing the piece of metal came from underneath a d pushed past the rings to make it to the top

So just took it to the shop the guy said that there "might" be a crack in the cylinder between the 2 ports, he had no way of telling for sure but told me he would t bore it for me now. It looks like a groove not a crack. What r my options now?

Could not push past the rings but the transers can allow a massive chunk of debris to be transferred to the upper cylinder.
