engine idling

i have a 2001 blaster and i have to keep on the gas to keep it running. but i see all these people that start it and leave it and it idles by it self. pleaze someone help me.

adjust the idle screw underneath the front of the seat, its ontop of the carb

exactly.. with the choke off turn it slowly clock wise, untell it stays running, than turn the lights on and adjust it tell it stays running,
i say this cuz the lights will pull some power for the electrical system and a ok idle may stall out once the lights are on...

watch vids online and listin to how most of the healthy blasters idle... hell search 4cfed on youtube and listin to how mine idled

You could adjust your throttle cable tension also.Turn the adjustment on the thumb throttle assembly out a little bit.

i took the seat off and is the idle screw a philips or flathead screw driver

Its a flat head, the screw head is about the size of a nickel.

yup big ass flat head... id try to adjust it threw the carb before messing with the throttle cable..

yea it needs to be 1 1/2 turns out

mine was idle high and i turned it down the first day i bought it (96 blaster) first kick everytime and seems like a perfect idle to me. i'll see if i can make u a little video tomorrow.
