When i try to turn the engine by hand it is very hard, i replaced the rings as i stuffed one up. When i remove the spark plug it turns over normally. I took out the reed cage and it is still tough to turn. There isn't any scratches or marks on the piston or cylinder, any ideas?

you shouldnt be turning the engine over with your hand anyway you should use your foot and it should be hard that means you have good comprssion

If it turns over easy with the plug out, it's compression doing it. That's a good thing. The new rings bumped it up do to good sealing.

How did you manage to stuff up a ring, what caused it?

I removed the cylinder to repaint it (no paint got in the cylinder) and as i was putting it back on i accidentally bent one ring (it didn't scratch the wall)
