hey guys im new to this whole blaster and 2 stroke thing and i just got my first one so i have a few questions. I was looking into getting my cylinder head bored out and ive notice a bb kit is 500 bucks at least. is there any way i can get this same bore size without the 500 dollar kit. like just buying the 72mm piston and having a shop bore to match. do i need anything else like a new sleeve or just the piston and bore job. thanks in advance

the max you can bore a stock sleeve is 68mm 68.25 if you want to really push it. to get a bbk you eother need a new sleeve installed wich can be costly and a waste if your current cylinder has life left in it or you can buy a vitos, ct, airsal bbk kit. unfortunately you gotta pay to play :D but some nice power can be made in a stock jug also, porting is where its at man I:I

thanks man. im looking into getting flotek to port it, mill the head and lighten the fly wheel this winter. just wanted to possibly get it bored out first and just weighing my options. i see you have had work by flotek, do you like what you got?

everybody has thier fav engine guy but yeah man i couldnt be happier, ive got real nice power and it still flys on topend I:I I:I

If you wanna save a little money I would have your stock jug ported now. It will make the same power as a non ported 240kit. If your looking for top performance in the future, I would bite the bullet and get the 240kit now. Run it until you can get it ported. Once you port that 240 kit you will have a scream'n ass engine. I know, they do'nt give 240kits away though.

just make sure you plan on all the mods you have to do around that bbk to get the most power out of it. I started off just putting in a $180 3mil stroker. Now I am about a grand into it and still have about six to seven hundred left to go.(and I am doing the build myself. only sorcing out the machine work. all that is just to maximize the amout of power that I can get from a three mil stroker.but it will scream when I am done.

True scottj77. Like noober said, "you gotta pay to play". I was trying to do the math in my head on how much it would cosh to get everything out of one of these engines. It will cost some dough to do it, I believe you. Makes me think about a YZ250 engine a little. Just a little!

Me too bro. I love making stuff come alive. I plan on doing just about everything to my engine. I really want to beat a trx250r. The owner was talking sh_t about the blasty. I wanna keep up with acezeesawtooth when he gets his a tricked out too.

don't bore out your jug thinking you will get more power. all you will do is waste cylinder life and then have to pay out the a$$ to get it resleaved. only bore out what you need

thanks for the help guys... well i did bite the bullet and bought a vitos 240 kit that has already been ported by WILD CARD!! all off free-gay got that brand new for 485 so im happy... looking for a new stroker now... money money money.... got add the dough if you wanna go
