electrical problem

I bought a new coil so thats out of the question im not getting any spark on my 02 blaster the pick up coil wire aka white/red should be open but im getting a reading i am no expert someone please help i have no life without my quad

unplug the black/white wire on the kill switch and see if you get spark then.


do you have a multi-meter? check the stator coils. the procedure should be in the manual:

Yeah...start with the basics:

Chech that the ignition switch is 'on'
Check that the ground wire(s) are securely fastened to frame with no corrosion present
Check the plug wire and plug boot for damage (cuts, burns, slices, etc)
Use a new spark plug

^^ Agreed, check all connections, clean if necessary. I've seen quite a few different bikes that have had electrical problems, that boil down to loose/dirty connections.

Pick up coil resistance according to the manual is 72-108ohms, I have yet to get one to ohm to that all three i have are at 20 ohms!
