You can just leave it in if you're only doing top end, no reason to take it all outDo you have to remove the engine from the body to do a top end job or can you do it while the motor is still mounted, and why?
I do my topend in the frame . it's easier to loosen and retouqe cylinder and head nuts with the motor secured in the frame.Do you have to remove the engine from the body to do a top end job or can you do it while the motor is still mounted, and why?
Just power wash it good, especially under the tank
That sucks. You should do a leakdown test before you disassemble.see if you have any air leaks.then after assembly to ensure your air tight..lean conditions kill. An engine quickly.post
I've tried a few times to upload a picture of my bike but it keeps saying it's to big
Anyway. I really wish I could find another engine for the cheap cheap to drop off In It while I played with this one
That sucks
First thing to do is wash it good. Do a leak down test as mentioned. My guess is either bad crank seals, air leak, or carb jetting was way off. IF you need a new piston, get bored so it goes in a new hole.
Replace crank seals, they’re at least 13 yrs old.
IF You have to split the cases get a Blaster flywheel puller, no jaw pullers. Be sure to remove washer and back center bolt all the way out.
File the fingers on clutch basket
Sharpy marker and ziplock bags are your friend on this.i lost a $3 dowel one time so i could not put case halfs together.had to order one.bag and tag. Every sectionIf it has to be gone into that deep, someone else will be doing g it. Only because I know me, I'll take it all apart( which I'm good at) and wait too long to get parts or what ever the reason and I'll loose 1/2 the stuff I need to make it run again. I'more of an accessory man. I can do anything o a motorized vehicle except for going into the engine and trans.
Think he is running a ch$!#$!nese carbThat sucks
