Dynojet kit?

a 230 mikuni main jet in a stock carb is way too small for that fmf pipe, you should be around 270, a 280/290 < in this cold weather

DO NOT RUN THAT BIKE WITH A STOCK 230 AND AN FMF, or you'll be on here lookin for piston kits

is there smaller jets in the dyno kit than the 350 ?????

dynojet came as folowed: 200, 210, 220, 340, 350, 360, the needle and stickers. lol i had the 230 in and it ran fine. i have the FMF turbo core2 full (and Vforce2 reeds and k&n air no lid). i guess the DYNOJET tecky said my pipe is like stock becaise it has a baffle in it. i think thats what he said. so im sh*t outta luck theres no jet close to my 230 other than the 340 or downgrade to 220. guess im FKD unless i mod my motor more and at i dont have that kind of $ yet so.

you aint trippin bro, if you'da ask here first, we'de have told you dont waste you loot on a dyno jet kit, off to ebay they go.................

i know. i wish i knew all i coulda done was buy a few jets at a local dealer for 3 bucks each insrtead on 48 on a whole bunch of jets i will never use! i JUST bought the quad last week so im excited about tuning it. i was being impatient! honestly the best thing about buying this kit.. was the stickers. lol. but i guess i'll get the 270 280 290 tmrw and MAYBE a plug or 2. kinda on a budget now lol.

so i tried the 340main jet. still loses power on the powerband. that means its.. too lean right? well i gotta order some jets so im gonna throw back in the 230. it ran so much better with that. does any1 know if i should change the needle back too? or leave the dynojet needle in? that's for idle right? well i guess i wasted 49 bucks on kit that i dont need. all the jets are either too big, or too small..

heres a lil sumthin i found, it was a way bigger list, but i cut out the closest jet sizes to what were talkin here.......

looks like a mikuni 187 jet is equivalant to a 200 dyno jet < thats about 2 sizes bigger number than the mikuni

that being said, you should be running around a 270/280 main mikuni jet with your mods so a dyno jet equivalant should be in the low 300's, 310 possibly

if ya have one near that size throw it in there, with the stock needle on the middle clip position, and stock pilot jet, airscrew at 1 1/2 turns out
should be close
very rarely does the stock pilot or needle need changed in a stock mikuni carb, anyone who has had to do those changes either have huge mods or is compensating for an airleak or sumthin else

that needle and clip setting suggested provided by dyno is prolly your bogging troubles, try just to get the main right first, one thing at a time not a bunch of changes all at once, then chase your tail tryin to figure out which one is wrong

bottom line...........stock pilot jet, airscrew 1 1/2 turns, stock needle -middle clip,
low 300's dyno main jet

WOT plug chop and no airleaks !!!!!!

Well I only had the 230 which was in b4 the dyno and it ran good for me. The next jet up was the 340 dyno and that didn't go well. Below my 230 the dyno came wit 210 and lower. So I AM screwed with the dyno kit. They didn't include any jets close to low 300 or even nowehere near my 230. As for mikuni jets, I was on jetsrus and they have the OEM and the quality ones. Is it really worth getting the better ones?? I mean they're pretty high on shipping! Just for sum pea sized items I mean come on that's crazy. But yea I'm gonna order them asap. What choice do I have? Couldn't find none on ebay

go to your local yamaha dealer and pay under $5 a piece, no shipping
get a 270 - 280 - 290 and you'll be good

I called a local nd they said they sell each jet by the 3's. So I passed on it and they had to order it. So I went with jetsrus. Payed damn near 20 for 60, 70, 80, 90. Sheesh. I should've threw a plug or 2 in with my order, but thought they sold jets only so again, I shot myself on the foot. Ebay has a lot of plugs for cheap but there's a lot of different kinds NGK B8RES idk which to get

ok im back, i got all the jets in the mail. (the CORRECT 1s) so i stuck the 290 in. and its running excellent. as for the plug whats the gap?? also im gonna jack my own thread with this question.. i have a manifold exhaust leak not bad but enough where i see a exhaust fumes spittiing out. but will this effect performance? ima gonna post another thread about this issue...
