just wondering if a DT250 motor would fit the blaster and would it be worth it.
the guy i work for has a 1979 dt250 and everything is there,might be able to get it cheap

It's a 70's model enduro bike. They were more worried about "torque" way back when. It's not gonna be an upgrade...

Why not just port and bore the crap out of the blaster engine?

There's a MUCH stronger aftermarket for the blaster engine. You might even have trouble finding stock yamaha parts for a 1979 MX250.

a cr500 would be nice too.which ever fits better is what i need to know.my bro has a spare cr250 motor and all the goods to go with it.but im going to bug him to trade his cr250 for my blaster because he has kids lol

This is what i was trying to do before i decided to rework my blaster motor instead......stock at 49hp and would of looked cool with dual exhuast

The CR comment was a joke. A 500 would tear that lil pussy built chassis apart. lol I hate the Blaster frames. Weak as hell.
