I'm in the process in rebuilding the top end on my wife's blaster and when I pulled the jug the dowel pins looked pretty beat and I ordered new ones. However one of them is stuck in the crank case pretty good and I have know idea how I'm going to get it out without damaging the case or the stud. Help please!!!

Without removing the stud a little penetrating oil and a pair of vise grips set on the correct tension and work it back and forth should get it out.Cover the case with some carboard and tape to protect it in case you slip. If it is really bad the stud may have to be removed, which can be a fun task.

Getting it out is all that matters. Good job. What method did you use to get it out?

I let it soak in wd-40 for a couple days then taped up the threads and put the old used base gasket on to minimize the chance of damage. Then I carefully took a big pair of pliers and squeezed it to semi-crush it. Once it was more of a oval shape I worked it back and forth until it was loose enough to remove the tape and slide it off. At first i wasn't sure if it would crush like I wanted and the last thing I would want to do is remove and replace a stud.
