dont understand my choke

I have a mikuni flatslide carb with the sea-saw lever stile choke? Witch way is choke? Push the lever in thus pulling the plunger out for choke? or pulling the lever out thus pushing the plunger in for choke? Im trying to tune my carb and ether way it runs the same. thanks

I think if the lever is flat to the plain of the carb the choke is off and tilted when it's on, But idk if they are similar to the older carbs. Hope that helps.
