First time blaster owner and the only way I get this thing start, for a few seconds is with starting fluid. Could the reeds be bad or is this set up all wrong? And I don't have the air box. Also were would that vent go?

that large nipple sticking up off the intake is for a boost bottle, if it is open to the intake it will need blocked off with a vacuum cap, available at most auto stores.
and stop using starting fluid on a 2 stroke, it contains no oil to lubricate.

Boost huh? Never would have thought. Aye aye, no more starting fluid. Now with the no start problem... Should I just buy new reeds? Do they last that long before they are trash?

Oh what does the owner's manual call for a fuel mix?

the owners manual doesn't call for a mix, these bikes were oil injected,
is your injection still active or blocked off ?

most of us run 32:1 with a good 2 stroke oil designed for air cooled engines....yamalube or maxima super m

That is an interesting read on the boost bottle. Once again I have never heard of such a thing and I will just cap that fitting off. The oil injection system looks to be removed. Ok, I can work with 32:1 and a quality oil.
