I wouldnt think that it would because its called a silencer, but I heard blasters with silencers that are louder than my stock one.

thats cause aftermarket pipes are generally louder and make way more power than stock, there less restrictive than the stock and allow for flow,, in the stock pipe there are a lot of baffles and cones muffling more of the sound

they are also called stingers. if you didn't have silencers, it would be a lot louder, trust me.
the shape and design of the silencer will change the sound and loudness of your exhaust.
and stock ones are usually the quietest.

No silencers........ silence...

Reason some are louder then others are length, cap, packing, and if it has a sparkarrestor.

The stock silencer is like a giant coffee can and it has a sparkarrestor with a very small end cap with a down tube.

Wrong! a stinger is part of the expansion chamber, the silencer is its own deal.

However on an in frame pipe the stinger section is incorporated with the silencer, basically the silencer on an in frame acts as and exstention to the stinger... thats why if you change the length of your silencer you change the power band a bit.

Aftermarket silencers, which are essentially a muffler of sorts, don't silence the exhaust as much as the stock one does. Also, the pipe itself has a lot to do with the amount of noise the bike will make!!

I ran an FMF pipe with a stock 'silencer' on it for a while just to keep the noise level down.

so many things change the sound of a silencer. when i got my ESR center mount set up the first thing i said was WTF the silencer was only like 8" long, the billet mounts were sick though. it makes way more power than a longer silencer but its also so friggin loud. I've grown used to it and it gets its share of attention as Honda 2 stroke single blap blap is so much differant that a banshee's. only thing i worry bout is eventually the po-po is gonna hear me climbing a hill and is gonna wanna check the DB. ESR said the DB is legal but we checked and its pushing 102db when 93db is sand legal.
