heres some pics of my DIY extended steering stem project i did today.i made it out of some 1"OD tube i made it a 2-1/2" rise because im a tall focker... i used 10-1/2" of tube 4" into each side of the stem.no more hit my throttle with my knee and going into a tree.

i tube i used was 1/4" and the stock stem was 1/4..if you think about it the kinda force on that tube im sure im not going to have a problem.
 
woudlnt it have been a bit easier for you to grind down the bottom of a warrior stem? looks like we got about the same height added just different path to get there.
 
i had the stem off a frame i bought to get the swing arm for my extender swing arm so the stem cost me nothing and it cost me $11 for 3 feet of tube.. just b.c i didn't have anything laying around that would fit...it took me 20-30mins with building it and installing it... and as for the candy red. i believe it was OEM off an 1989 blaster. b.c everything on my bike is like that and i never painted it.
