DIY extended steering stemaring stem (no 56K)

heres some pics of my DIY extended steering stem project i did today.i made it out of some 1"OD tube i made it a 2-1/2" rise because im a tall focker... i used 10-1/2" of tube 4" into each side of the stem.no more hit my throttle with my knee and going into a tree.

how thick was the tubing you used? and out of curiosity, how thick is the stock steering stem tubing?

looks good for doing it yourself
while there not be strength problems as its not the same diameter as the stem though

i tube i used was 1/4" and the stock stem was 1/4..if you think about it the kinda force on that tube im sure im not going to have a problem.

woudlnt it have been a bit easier for you to grind down the bottom of a warrior stem? looks like we got about the same height added just different path to get there.

Looks like he paid about $0.30 for the metal stock and fabed the steering stem himself....He would of had to pay for the Warrior stem...

i had the stem off a frame i bought to get the swing arm for my extender swing arm so the stem cost me nothing and it cost me $11 for 3 feet of tube.. just b.c i didn't have anything laying around that would fit...it took me 20-30mins with building it and installing it... and as for the candy red. i believe it was OEM off an 1989 blaster. b.c everything on my bike is like that and i never painted it.
