My buddy made the scoops for me at his work which is a machine shop so there galvinized(sp) so they wont rust and sh*t and then went to a hradware store and got some brackets and a whopping 6 dollars later they were done.

So the bottom bracket runs through the frame and never attaches to it? It only attaches to the bottom of both air scoops?

Thats my only missunderstanding on this write up. And I am going to do it this weekend between break in cycles on the new top end.

yes it just keeps the scoops from flopping all around. but what i didnt put in the write up was that i used a couple cable ties to hold the lower support to the frame. hope this helps.

I finished mine yesterday, they look great. I used galvanized with aluminum mounts and I made mine 8" wide. Best of all, it was free!

yea , thats what i did too David, i used two good size zip ties and tied the bottom bracket to the frame and it keeps the scoops nice and tightly in place.

um i cut the lower bracket down a 1.5" and drilled new holes, then i had the spring compressed all the way down. fit great with no modifications to the blaster its self.

245stroker has scoops with the maier hood. not my scoops, but they looks pretty close.

they will. they bolt to the top fender mount bracket. my have a cross bar that goes from scoop to scoop to secure them more.

Thanks djack for the simple, easy to follow diy. I was able to whip out some nice air scoops quick and easy! I ended taking them off because they looked funny with my fenders, but I'll keep em for a future use.
