I ordered a new piston to replace mine that had a crack in the exhaust side of the skirt. The problem is that the top ring won't fit. Both rings are within 0.02 mm of each other, but neither will fit the top groove. Both will fit the bottom. Seems like the top groove is just too thin. Anyone ever have this happen? It's a pro x piston that I bought from eBay, and after re reading the details for the item it says no returns on engine parts. I contacted the seller, still waiting to hear back from him. Is it possible to have a machine shop cut the groove with the ring pins in place?
