i am lookin for a cheaper way to get my 03 on the trails again i either need to do a full rebuild that includes slitting the case and sending out the crank and jug to be machined or i was thinking of picking up another project blaster and using what i can off it to make mine run. this is what i found local. the guy does not know the year but it looks to be older then my o3 its pretty much only good for parts. he wants 300 and is pretty firm on that price. i am going to look at it tomorrow to see if the lower ends are good. my question is. do you think its worth it and do you think i can get some of my money back selling off what i dont need? the add reads ,and pics

" i have a yamaha blaster 195 cc 2 stroke four wheeler in pieces so automatically new gasket kit all around and a new piston light hone on jug you have a roaring beast now the bike is pretty much there except brakes but for the price i mean come on im throwing in 2 bottom ends fatty pipe full functioning carb reed cage with decent reeds brand new air filter twist throttle "

They come up for sale around me all the time running for less than $1000. If the engine parts are good and you get what you need out of the parts it probably wouldnt be too bad. You can sell what you dont need to get some of the money back but remember its all torn apart for a reason. I have funded my rebuild completely with the money I have gotten from parting out my parts bike. How long has it been for sale? If it has been for sale for a while sometimes cash makes that firm price go away. Look at it and then make an offer if you are still interested. Seller is much more likely to take a little less if you come with cash rather than making an offer over the phone.

i think its worth lookin at i know i wont make a killing off parts but really lookin for a motor to get me back on the trails and take my time building one

You might be surprised at what you can make. Most everything I have sold has been small parts but I have sold a lot of them. Only chassis parts that I have sold yet have been wheels, axle, and steering stem. Haven't sold any engine parts off mine yet. Have probably made close to $300 at this point.

NO DEAL. so i call the guy yesterday to talk about whats all included he tells me EVERYTHING in the pic and lists off the stuff. so i get up early today call him this morning to let him know i am heading over, an hour ride later i get there just to find one of the lower ends missing. so i ask him " i thought there where too lower ends" he tell me NO. so i walk out to the car and get the add with the pic that clearly shows TWO lower ends. i show it to him and he says well one was bad so i threw it away. at this time i tell him " BULL sh*t" you kept an old air filter with a hole in it but THREW away the other lower end ? at that time i walk out of his garage and head to my car to leave. he tell me make a deal on the rest the other lower unit is still good. i turn around look him in the eye and tell him i dont fell comfortable dealing with lairs. at that time i get into my car and another hour to get back home. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE ????????????

Total waist of time. maybe i should have made an offer on the rest but honestly i was really in disbelief that he did have everything in the pic and failed to tell me about the "thrown away" bad lower end, even when i asked him specifically before i traveled to go look at it. he knew i was really only interested in the lower ends because mine is bad. maybe this is a sign that i just need to split my case and work with that i have

great deal it has 2 bottem ends man come on that is a great deal i saw 1 for a grand race ready and it is a guy off this website i think if u r interested

Bummer deal. I would have offered him $25 just to piss him off after that. The upside is you have that money to put into yours. I am tearing down my spare engine right now and so far it seems pretty simple. I haven't even gotten into the manual yet. Will definately need it for reassembly though.
