I was checking out what Arlan has been up to at LED(formerly LRD) and saw some interesting setups. For the Zilla owners out there, he basically will set you up with a Zilla. He lists quads on his site, but will port ANY 2 stroke quad or cylinder(even aftermarket) and build a custom exhaust for that particular porting.....he can even build custom powervalves for the cylinders. Knowing Arlan, I'm sure it's not cheap whatsoever, but he is running a 1 man show at LED, so it might not be as much as it was on LRD......he gets as custom as you can get though. At any rate, I about jizzed when I saw this R. :o

when he was finished he had built a red colored (clear) acrylic air box.

jason plays in a local heavy metal band (7th circle) and is covered from head to toe in tat's. Not your typical ATV rider looking guy.

I don't know.........covered head to toe sounds like the typical dudes I see at the dunes. If anything, I'm not the typical ATV rider guy with a degree and having no tats. I:I

In the video that is Arlen in the shop coat (case you didnt already know that)

Yea, Arlan is always rocking the mad scientist look. I:I Great guy to talk to with an endless amount of knowledge. From what I heard, he still is rebuilding shocks as well. Hell, I'm sure if you asked him if you wanted a frame and a side of scrambled eggs he could find a way to help you out. :D Haven't spoke to him since LED opened, but he seems happier over there being in complete control of everything.

what is this dudes site. i might hit him up with some custom stuff on my blaster.

Who? Jason? Jason was a just the owner of the quad. From what I understand he was away from ATVs for like 20 years but when he got back into it........he REALLY got back into it. I:I Hell, OregonDunes probably knows more about him.

Arlan is the owner and operator of LED(formerly LRD). He does standard and custom engine work, standard and custom pipe building, shock rebuilding, dyno tuning, etc, etc.

I havent spoke to Jason in several years (towards the end of this build), but during my last he shared with me that he went thru a very serious time in his life. It wasnt til afterwards that he got clean and sober and devoted a great portion of his time into something more constructive (this atv).

He had a vision, and spent most of his waking hours committed to it. This build went thru a variety of stages, sometimes changing directions. His attention to detail is what sets this bike apart from others. You can sometimes still find him posting info on exriders under the name PDXBIGFOOT.

Arlan these days is swamped with work. Unlike some shops that kinda specialize in one brand or model, Arlan will take any and all work in, from the replacement of a throttle cable to a custom hybrid build. Being a one man band, when he gets behind, there's nobody to help bail him out.

Couple of weeks ago I called and asked him to rebuild my 400ex shock. He had been sick with the flu and was behind a couple of days worth of work. He said it will take him 2-3 weeks to catch up fully on the 2-3 days he wasnt at 100% working.

I heard something about Arlan's son MIGHT be helping him out when LED opened, but I wasn't sure. Even then though, I'm sure it would still be too much work. At any rate, I'm just happy to hear he is dealing with too much business rather than not enough. B)

How far away are you from Arlan's shop anyways? If I ever get a big time engine and get it out to Arlan, I might have you drop it off and have fun with it. :D
