I do not have a piston to measure,i got this jug off of ebay with a head i wanna have re-cut.
The cylinder is in really good shape and my buddy flex honed it for me just a lil and the minor scratches diseapeared.
It measures 66.21 mm. Is that too much?i should just do a 1st overbore huh.
Did i just answer my own question?

.04mm is close, be sure you're getting a good measurement. If you are over that anywhere in the cylinder, it might not clean up for a 66.25mm piston. I would be worried that the cylinder isn't true and round. How and where were the measurement taken?

I took a measure at the top of the jug, bottom of the skirts and at the transfer ports, they were all the same.with digital calipers mind youthey only go so deep. Not a propper tool in my opinion but gets me a general idea.Where di the out of round thing come from?hmm
The jug will be going to a local race shop. i will have them do the bore and order the piston i choose for it.Even if i have to go .20 over ,still i am happy with the purchase for a virgin jug.
The head will be sent to KOR when funda provide.
I have a spare bottom end,bad rod bearing, not sure of the transmission health.Need to slpit the cases.Something to do while healing my broken collar bone and can't work.
I just got my ebay and paypal setup so i can liquidate the house to build this beast and become a supporting member here.
I have soo much stuff saved to put on ebay.Parted out motorcycles, not selling ANY blaster stuff.Tons of unused music gear.I bet i could scrape up 600 bux in a hurry.
She runs great now, just putting together a fresh top end.
I already extended the swingarm,i made a thread for that ,check it out, came out sweet.
But,the bad is,i need swingarm and axle bearings,Change my axle,it is bent i have a spare,
And if i am doing a top end i am replacing all the seals to boot.everything i need to. I am NOT gonna put all this into a top end just for something else to fail and blow an engine.
It will wait until i have everything together for it,like i said,it runs now.

York Racing, I was saying .04mm or .0019" (the difference between 66.21mm and 66.25mm) not .040". I would think .04mm wear in the front of a cylinder would not at all be uncommon.

YamaZuki, I bought a rod kit on ebay awhile back for cheap. Figured it would be useful down the road. If you are interested, I would pass the deal onto you. Seems like I got it for around $30 but would have to look back for an exact price. Even if you have to go to 2nd bore, it's still a good find. I bid some on a fresh cylinder and head last week, I wonder if you got it instead? This is the one I was bidding on Yamaha Blaster Cylinder Head | eBay

I looked back at you swing arm, I did mine the same way but haven't gotten the shock mount on it yet. I'm setting mine up with a 400ex shock mount. I got the mount bored for the 400ex shock bearing but don't have it ready to weld on yet. Here is mine

Lookin good,i braced mine on the outsidealso, and went long as i could on the inside wall, making it 3 layers thick lol.overkill i know. But why do it 2 times?
The piece i used for the shock mount i took off of a road bike and drilled the extra holes.
On the cylinder i pulled the trigger on a buy it now.
Gotta get funds up first but if then u still have the rod i will let ya know.that wil be sent to KOR also.Ken is close to me shipping will be cheap.
