Hello all. I have an 06 blaster. It has low compression so I pulled the cylinder and it was not scored or anything. I bought it used and this was my first opening the engine. The top of the piston is marked 66.42 so I'm assuming it's not stock anymore. I used a digital micrometer and got like 66.43 on the cylinder and the rings are dull so I'm assuming the rings are why it has low compression. I have no idea where to find these rings. So a little help would be wonderful.

Hey monster. I'm new to 2 strokes but the first thing I did after pulling my cylinder was send it to a shop and have the bore measured for taper and out of round. These could definitely be an issue. Stock is 66mm so its definitely not stock but have the bore checked just to be sure. I've found most the parts I've needed on ebay.

Thats not the stock bore. I googled it and A Namura 0.020 over Piston came up. Take it somewhere and have it measured to see if its still in specs. Might not be a bad Idea to bore up one size and start Fresh.

Low compression can also be caused by worn ring lands, which allow the fuel charge to bypass the rings.

If the piston and bore is in good condition, with no wear marks, and are within specs on taper and out of round then you only need new rings.

The bore of course must be honed if new rings are the option.
