I have to say, Ive rode a raptor 250 and im VERY impressed with the handling. They handle and soak up the bumps very nicely for a stock suspension. Its a nice little raptor, but I wouldnt spend that much on a 250. I would just go for the 450r

TRblaster you really dont read posts, read my posts, where do i say the raptor engine is more powerful than the blasters???? quote me when i said it. All i said was that there is still more left to do and it can do more than 30 hp. Yes mod for mod in the engine the blaster will end up being stronger but not by a world difference.

I had a perfect testing at the time I had a stock blaster and my freind had a stock raptor 250 and I can tell you right now theres a reson the blaster was replaced by the raptor. Its a good handling more low end power then the blaster,mx wise the raptor will be much better,drag racing deffently the blaster but who wants to go in a stright line,I was happy i had both machines to compare but in alot of aspects the frames and everything are very simuliar but the raptor 250 does have a lot of stuff that inproves over the blaster
horsepower isn't the only number to pay attention to...that rappy is gonna make more torque than the blaster, and possibly in a more useable rpm range. remember it wasn't built as a drag quad.....it was built to do mx, most likely as a beginner quad
Its cool and the torque would be better for less advanced riders. You have to work hard to go fast on a blaster.
But it still sounds like a ttr 110 and I've seen 10yo kids on Honda 90's go faster than that. All the 4 strokes had on a blaster was displacement and now they want to make a 4 stroke replacement with similar displacement? It's not a yzf 250 motor, you can't take it very far. Just watching him pull out of the corner...my blaster would shame him.

Theoretically, a 2 stroke makes twice the power per cc of a 4 stroke. An rudimentary air cooled engine like this would have to be about 350cc to compete with a blaster (stock to stock). Now modern water cooled, EFI, high performance 4 strokes are a different story.
theoreticly a 2 stroke makes 17% more power per cc than a 4 stroke since it make s power stroke ever 2.. hencer 2.. where as a 4 strke makes power every 4... im not sayin.. im just sayin..
"Power every 2 strokes" is double "power every 4 strokes". 4/2=2, you are saying 4/2=1.17, what are you talking about?

the blaster was designed 20 some years ago, i'd hope they've done something with handling and ergo's since then, and your right 4cfed, the power difference is not double straight on, a lot goes into that figure, if you look at how simple of two stroke the blaster motor is compared to some of the stuff out there that's a real sign of what your comparing, the raptors and yfz are evolving technology, 2 storke 4 stroke is apple's and oranges in my mind but what ever pretty entertaining thread either way
