Which side did you split case's from?
Clutch side
Or stator side? Stator side has more of a interference fit on inner race to crank

This is where the crank puller/installer comes in handy
Did the main shaft bearing move in right case half when installing the bearings?check that as it is known to move. It should be flush with the case and retaining bracket on the outside.?this has got alot of people.I split them from the clutch side then broke down whole transmission like the paw forks gears and i hated to but i did all new bearings and seals and froze the crank and heated the cases and i didnt even have to use the crank puller but now the transmission is back together i cant get the cases to close
