Crankshaft threads

Anybody know the size of the threads on the crankshaft? I need it where the drive gear goes. The guy that had this before me put a different nut on it and it messed the threads up a bit and I need to buy a tap to fix them. I bought a proper oem one and it won't tighten down. Hopefully I'm not SOL on this. Thanks

if the factory nut will no tighten down then a tap that size will not help. you need to TRY to tap it a size or 2 smaller

I think he means it just wont thread on all the way....
cleaning up the threads may help.... but thats a big chance... make sure you clean it and loc-tite the new nut on there.
sorry I cant help with the thread size. Take the new nut to a tool store, they can help you

You need whats called a 'thread file'.
They come with all different pitch threads on 1 file.
Run the file on the janked threads and it straightens them back out.
