I need some advice folks. I'm splitting the crankcase to change my crankshaft and I have everything off but this bracket that fits over the crankshft oil seal on the clutch side. It is held on by a large Phillips machine screw and I cannot get the darn thing to move. My question is can I split the case without removing this bracket and if not any ideas for getting the screw off? This is the first time I have done this.

yep what awk said will work best i had 4 stripped screws on my oil injection cover i had to take a dremal and cut it to accomidate a flat head screw driver then used my drill to get them out later replaced then with 10mm hex type screws

I was able to take a larger phillips head from a hex set. and tap it with a hammer and it then used the hex / head phillips into a socket and removed it that way.

But if that does not work 4 you, then a impact screwdriver is the way to go.

I basically did the Same for All of The Large Phillips On the Bottom end , Used A #3 I Believe with The 1/4 Drive Adapter With the 1/4 Drive Ratchet and put force on them , They make A Notable Sound when They Release !
