Went and bought new seals and took the clutch and main gear off, pumped her up and sprayed some soapy water on there and its leaking between the crankshaft and collar that goes in the seal.

Is there any way to seal that thing off like maybe an o-ring behind it?

The crank is brand new. Or do i have to buy a new collar. I dont understand how they expect metal to seal against metal.:-/

it seals by way of the clearances between the 2 metals, and a certain
amount of acceptable oil that closes that minute gap.
once one of the 2 metals are worn, that seal is lost.
that collar should be replaced when the crank is replaced IMO,
the o ring thing is not going to work out for you, if its not designed to be there,
its not going to last, just buy the new collar, cant be that much after just paying 150 for the new crank

im having the exact same problem. i tired two different collars and got the same results. neither was new tho. mine drops 1psi in 5 minutes

what i did to be sure mine didnt leak was clean the inside of the colar and the crank and then put a Very small amt of yamahabond on the crank and inside of the colar before installing.
