can someone tell me if i have a bad crank seal? but this is a cold start too and when i ride it smells like burnt plastic but maybe i am burnin packing. check it out
A good way to check is to drain the tranny fluid and see if it is milky. If it is that side seal is most likely gone. Also a high idle is also a symtom of a bad crank seal. The oil and high idle would mean that the clutch side crank seal is gone or going. The stator side seal would not cause those symtoms.I just found a bad crank seal in one of my blasty's last night and am currently calling around looking for one today. The seal still looked good but the rubber was too hard to make a good seal.Tranny fluid went in red and came out a very milky pink.A bad crank seal will also give you that akward smell you have.
thanks dual!! rep given. when i pour trans oil in it, its gold and when drained its grey but ill check the milky part. oh does anyone note the pinging.
