how about a crank puller/installer? do i need one of those? and how much do they run, cuz i am only seeing them for 60 bucks!

or does any one around the baltimore area have one i could borrow?

you dont need 1,just heet up the bearings once there in and put ur crank in the freezer for like an hour and tap it in

DO NOT TAP IT. you'll mangle it for sure. it has to be PULLED. pulled being keyword because itsn ot a straight shaft, its off center and you'll through it off/mangle the bearing. not a good idea to hammer it it. use the tool or do my redneck way lol.

I made mine out of a bolt and a piece of pipe, and I did freeze the crank and cook the bearing!, the Vito's cranks are bigger than the stockers!, it was a PITA!!!!!

dude, buy the tools. it's worth it man. i've used mine like 5 times since i bought them.
the case splitter was like $55 and the puller was like $60.

of course, i'm always of the opinion that you should always buy any tool that you need, cuz tools are always a great investment.
