crank oil

as long as the oil you choose is meant for wet clutch applications you can use whatever
personally i use bel-ray gear saver 80 w
quite a few members will back me up on the belray
also you will need about 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart, if you look in the small view window on the clutch cover it should be about 1/2 way up the window

i also use the bel ray gear saver, but they were out so i had to get maxima FTL fluid for wet clutches, the guy said its actually better than the bel ray, i guess ill see?

why does manual say sae 10w 30.. to me it looks ike there is some gear oil in there now really thick. and i cant see through the window..guess its due for a cleaning.. alsp any great idea's if the bolt is stripped??

the manual says that because 10 w 30 motorcycle oil (which is designed for wet clutches) is what yamaha recomends. they sell some called yamalube
basically the oil that goes in there doesnt actually lubricate the crank like a car , it only lubricates the transmission, and clutch, gear saver is what my local ktm dealer recomended for me to use, and i heard on here that a lot of people praise it so it was a no-brainer.
the oil that you use in your oiler or whatever you premix with your gas is the actual oil that lubricates your crank.
