Well I took off my top end to have the cylinder measured at a local shop. The guy told me it was at 66.53 but went to go pick it up he was being a douche and wouldnt tell me what it needs to be bored out to because he wants me to buy everything from him. Im not going to do that because he wants $270 for the boring wiseco piston and gasket set when he only charges 90 for the bore. What size piston kit should I order to be safe, the cylinder has scratches in it and gouges? Also is the kickstart supposed to turn the crank forward and backwards when its in gear with no topend on?

damn i got mine bored at sturdevants for 45 total rebuild around 100 buck that was 5 yrs ago you need to get the piston first so they can get the specs from the piston..has it ever been rebuilt.if not i would go .020

Yeah, you could try to take off .010 but that may not be enough so it might be safer to go with .020. Since your bore is at stock size just have him bore it and buy the .010 or .020 piston kit. I'm in the same boat as you but I just gotta find a 2" boring head around my shop somewhere so I can do it myself. Those things ain't cheap!

WOW!! 90 to bore? NAPA charged me 45. I had my Seadoo bored by a small shop with a stellar reputation for 40. Both were done within the last few months.

Maybe i should look around more then. NAPA as in the auto parts store?

Never thought they would bore engines theres one like 5 mins from my house, gotta go check them out lol

if your piston is 66.53 (66.50) and theres scratches/damage to the bore you need to go a 67.00 (.040 over) .030 might be enough to clean up the damage but you said gouges makes me think that there kinda deep. 67.00mm would be the safe move
