Are there any seals that sit behind the countershaft sprocket? Last weekend I was out riding, and My chain broke. It snapped and jammed in between the case and my front sprocket. I took the old chain and the sprocket off to put on a good chain in the middle of the woods just to get me home. I reinstalled a new chain and front sprocket, and now it is leaking like crazy. I didnt notice which way the sprocket goes on, or if there is a little seal as I was in a hurry. The cases are not cracked, but just to be safe, I put some JB weld where the chain had hit. So what did I do wrong to cause it to leak?

Yup theres a seal in there. Its not to hard to change though. Just run a drywall screw into it and pull it out with a pair of vice grips, then seat the new one back in its place and you should be good to go. But check again for a crack it may just be a small hairline crack but it could still cause problems. BTW blasterfreek30 and battbike are making and selling case savers to help prevent this kind of problem

I know on my KTM there is an o-ring seal in addition to the other seal that is actually in the motor cases. Anything like this on my blaster that could have fallen off when I changed sprockets? I did see those case savers they look to be a pretty good deal.

I found out that the cases are cracked, but it is a very little crack. I was wondering if there is any way to go about fixing this short of welding it. J-B weld, gasket sealer, would solder stick to aluminum? I do have a propane torch, so I could maybe braze it together. What do you guys think would work best?
