wow..... i am hitting around 24!! see what happened was about a week ago i was riding alone about 40 maybe 45 mph and it just shut off and wouldnt crank back up so i checked the spark and everything was ok so i then pulled it off and crank and ran just no idle what could be wrong? maybe rings?
Did you hold the throttle wide open and kicked it till the gauge stop rising ? You will have to kick it over many times to get a correct reading.
Yeap probobly rings. Usually will get a piston as well (weisco preferably) take it to a trusted machine shop or send it to one of our site sponsors to measure and see if a bore is necessary.
well its al stock so i assume jetting is right and i broke it in like the forum and the yamaha shop said too and as far as an air leak it was getrting to much air at the reeds due to a hole in the boot to the carb but that had been fixed before it was rode
probably incorrect jetting, u do a plug chop? air leak coulda done it, i hope u werent relying on the oil tank. the gear goes bad a lot of the times and u may have had that problem and in turn ran lean and fried ur sh*t. redo the comp test, make sure the comp tester doesnt have any leaks, yeah it happened to me so it is possible. use a different tester to be sure. if it is low pull the jug and take pics!!

found out what was wrong..... i let my cousins brother in law which works with yamaha and does alot of work around on racing fourwheelers thought he knew what he was doing i was wrong he didnt tighten up the head so every time the piston was on the down stroke it sucked in dirt and air and completly ruined the exaust side of the piston and the cylinder
your soppused to retighten them after the break in because theyll come loose after the break in.
these were backed off almost completely but thanks for the tip anyway not used to the 2 stroke yet used to rebuilding 4 strokes but it shouldnt have ran lean cause mine dosent have the oil tank i premix but i was running 30:1 with lucas
with a leaky head gasket its going to run lean.
also im going to say that it was from not tighting the head after some eat cycles
o ok well this time im gonna stick to rebuilding it my self then sale it and get something different but thanks for all the help
