so i am wondering about my compression reading i got. 110 psi
new gauge, fairly recent top end done with wsm piston at .050 over.
shouldn't i have more compression than this?
btw it runs excelent starts first or second kick cold and first kick hot. ask Dualstroke he'll tell ya how it runs. but why the low compression?

yeah i held it WOT and kicked it till the needle stopped, says its a bit low but it runs like a champ and hasnt had too many hours since the rebuild

You can't really compare compression readings between different gauges. It's just like comparing different dyno's, there's a good bit of error. You've got a fresh topend and it runs great, so use those compression readings and tester for comparison during the life of that topend. Wouldn't worry about it.

also, depending on what brand gaskets you used during your top end refresh, will dictate compression readings too. thicker base gaskets and head gaskets, which are often found in after market gasket sets, will give you lower compression tester readings. but like already stated, if the blaster fires right up and runs fine, don't worry about it.

wether or not the head was milled any, or if the cylinder deck or base was milled any, will also play a role in compression readings.
