Yea i don't know about that the clutch basket itself it is pretty light allready. The problem with shaving off Aluminum to save weight is that it does't weigh much LOL so u have to remove ALOT of metal to save any weight. Then it will likely be to weak. As aluminum needs a good design to be strong, think of and egg or triangles..... aluminum is perfect for that as it is brittle and slightly soft due to its Atom structure right! But by the time you drill alot holes not enough left
holes drilled in the clutch basket fingers is to allow more oil into the clutch discs,
not to lighten it
supposedly helps the clutch discs last longer ????
personally i wouldn't risk catastrophic failure of a clutch basket
when new tusk clutch discs can be had for under $30
aftermarket clutch baskets come with the holes pre-drilled
