When I put it in gear with the clutch fully engaged and rev it it slowly moves forward do I need no clutchs or what I have already adjusted the handle bar mount adjustment
no slack in cable and maxima mtl fluid and bottom end components were replaced but not the clutches it just started doing this sometimes it rolls forward and sometimes it doesnt
is the maxima mtl 75w?
in my opinion it will smoke that clutch it is to heavy of a weight.
it takes 10w 30w or atf or yamalube trans oil plus 20w 40w
put it this way..that yamaha blaster did not roll off the showroom floor with 75w oil in it
I don't know how the oil manufacturers rate the viscosity of oils, but I can tell you for sure 75w or even 80w is no where near as thick as automotive 80w-90 gear oil. Maxima MTL is good oil. I've used it before. Now I use Belray gearsaver 80w in everything with no clutch or transmission problems whatsoever.
If this is the oil you use, it certainly is not to heavy in the viscosity dept, though it could be just a little light for a small clutch pack like a Blaster.
The recommended oil is 10W30 engine oil with no friction modifiers.
is the clutch adjusted properly. not the cable..
the clutch actuator/lever has a point on the end of it... it needs to line up with the little point on the case.
here is a picture of a clutch that was WAYYYY out of adjustment
to adjust...
remove clutch cover
loosen 10mm nut in center of clutch pack
hold clutch lever, pushing towards front of engine
turn screw inside of 10mm nut until point on lever lines up with case point
tighten 10mm nut
i also used belray gearsaver 80w in 3 of my cr125's ....everyone of them need a clutch to be rebuilt
not saying it was the oils fault..but know i just use different oils then i did in the past no biggie
at least we have clarified the oil situation.next thing is to try to adjust the actuartor/and or open up clutch cover and inspect.
