on a 2000 blaster i recently picked up, the clutch doesn't feel right and the adjustment at the perch is all the way out. i also noticed that the arm at the case is pointing slightly forward whereas other blaster engines i have, the arm points straight across or maybe slightly to the back of the atv. the engine has been worked on before by somebody and my first thought was that they left out the ball that goes between the 2 rods. i figured that had to be the problem. so, i put the atv on its side and removed the case cover and the clutch pressure plate and dropped in a spare ball i had. went to put it all back together and noticed the pressure plate didn't go all the way on like it should. i had the 2 marks lined up so i know that wasn't the problem. also, i had screwed the adjustment all the way back in at the perch. ended up having to get that ball back out with a screwdriver and some strong magnets since i didn't want to tip it the other way and dump oil everywhere. i ended up bolting it all back together like it was before. you would think maybe just the cable is just stretched but that clutch arm not pointing the same as others do, has me wondering what is up.

Id check the condition of the actuator arm. Somes time when the ball welds to the rods it spins against the actuator and burns a hole through it or wears it thinner than it should be.
