Clutch issues

that yellow/red should attach to another yellow/red in the harness where the rest of the stator wire butt conect into the harness, above the right footpeg.
unless thats an added wire that runs up and connects to the blue and another yellow that supplies the light switch on the bars.
nowhere in any of the wiring diagrams does it connect to black.

Is This diagram is for the 4 wire stator . My blaster is a 05 and that yellow and black wire come out of the cdi I don't see it on this diagram not sure why they grounded it . I believe it went to the tors plug at one point but I could be wrong

as far as I knew, the 5 wire stator had the same color wires as a 4 wire, just an extra green for a positive ground to the stator plate ?

What about t

what about the cdi wires are those different . Should that yellow and black not be grounded . But to answer your question the main grounds are grounded correctly this wire splits off the main ground wire

i say if you got wire issues post a upclose pic so we can actually see it.
that blaster is so modified who knows what they did:)
I agree I don't know what they did . For the most part all the wires were connected how they were as far as factory harness goes just this yellow and black out of the cdi . Was grounded. And the only other yellow and black wire was to the tors plug . But was no longer hooked they just simply cut the wires and I removed them when I took all the tape off

the 03+ cdi wires are different in that the TORS is also contained within the cdi box, where the 88-02's had seperate cdi and tors boxes
yes the yellow/black needs connected to the black, both coming directly out of the cdi/tors box.

the above is talking about and showing the yellow/red, thats a completely different yellow than the tors yellow/black.
the yellow/red supplies the unregulated voltage to the lighting circuts, the blue wire t-tapped into that circut regulates the voltage down the 12-14 volts.
that yellow/red should not, anywhere, connect to a black, unless that black was added to the harness to replace a bad wire, and color code was not followed.

Yes sir those wires are connected correctly I did trace the blue and it is tapped into the yellow and red and is not grounded.

maybe I was wrong :(
your pic shows a yellow/black, but i thought you mentioned yellow/red ?

the yellow black for the tors, MUST connect to it's matching black coming directly out of the cdi/tors box.
not any other black from the harness.

So what if tors is deleted do I just not connect to anything

it is connected in pic above i guess
im sure it was deleted already
is there any wires coming out of thumb throttle/or clutch lever
also i posted the tors delete lol
ask awk about your coil:)

Thanks I did go through the link I must of missed it earlier. Yes this is correct then thanks a lot for the info... Looks like I just need to replace the source coil and braaap on

by connecting the yellow/black to the black as they come out of the cdi/tors box, you fool the tors circutry into thinking everything is still connected and functioning properly.
the rest of the system (carb top/switches/wires) does not matter then, it can be left or deleted.

Thanks again guys I'll keep you posted ... Thinking when I got the bike I had the boys wash it good and thinking the stator cover seal is no good might of got water in there so hopefully this will fix issues. This is one of the best forums I've joined you guys have given me lots of advise on this issue
