Clutch don't work

The clutch cable broke on my daughters 89 blaster and I got a new one put on and now the clutch won't work what's wrong please help.

It may just need to be adjusted. I have a downloadable service manual in my sig.

Why did it break, was it frayed or did something jam and it broke from extra exertion on the lever?

It was old and frayed and it just broke. I tries adjusting it and still nothing.

Did you pull the side cover and adjust the clutch rod?

I agree with blasterdemon, you may need to adjust your clutch rod, make sure the little ball is still in there too. I some how lost mine during my last rebuild and my clutch wouldn't engage, which also prevented my blaster from going into gear.

How do I adjust that is it easy or should I have it done at a shop. Thanks I really appreciate the help!

It's easy to do. You take the clutch side cover off and in the middle of the clutch basket is a nut. You loosen the nut and turn the rod till the clutch arm lines up with the mark on the case. It's more detailed in the manual.
