so i installed a brand new clutch cable because the other one was kinda messed up and felt like it lost its tension from being stretched. after i put the new one on i noticed that when i pulled the clutch lever in and let go, it wouldnt pop all the way back out. it would only go halfway. i checked to see if i installed it wrong or something like that but no. it looked exactly how it was supposed to. why do u think its not springing back how it should?

Did you check the spring on the clutch arm to make sure the arm is returning all the way? Did you try adjusting it at the lever?

it doesnt return all the way after i let go of the lever on the bars. the lever only goes 1/2 way. if i push the lever out the clutch arm goes back. and ive adjusted the clutch lever all the way in and out. it doesnt fix the problem. i tried riding with it that way switching from 1st to 2nd and didnt feel like it was an issue but it wont let me go back to neutral until i kill the engine. its weird

It's kind of hard to determine what it is without looking at it. It sounds like your saying the cable is binding. I would recheck the routing of it if that's the case.

thats one of the things i though of too. i checked and its not hitting anything and its not tangled. it fits in all the right spots. im thinking now that the spring on the clutch arm is the problem. theres a possibility that i need a new spring. im in the process of replacing a lot of misc parts on it anyways so it wouldnt hurt

well i took the cable completely off and put it back on again. and it works flawlessly. i have no idea what the problem was but its fixed. however, for some strange reason it doesnt want to go into neutral after i go from 2nd to 1st and stop. the clutch foot lever gets stuck and wont go to neutral (i can start moving again and it works fine) but when i turn off the engine it goes into neutral no prob. not too big of a deal but is there a way to fix that?

You must of been holding you tongue the wrong way the fist time.lol. Read over that thread and make sure your clutch is adjusted right.
