Guys can u help me my 1990 blaster has slight play in the basket is this ok.thanks

Where the basket goes on to the gear.if you hold the gear then try and move the basket theres a slight bit of play between the two.or is that normal or ok

If you are talking about the rivets being lose ? It is a common problem the rubber bushings behind it are worn out. You can get an aftermarket basket, there in the range of $200. Or an oem but I think there around the same price new??

Does it need to be done straight away as its only slight play

It is inevitable it is only going to get worse. I wouldn't go long with it like that. Do you have some time with it?? Im sure there a re a few like that running around that folks don't even know about it. Since you know it is like that I wouldn't go long with it. If a rivet decided to snap and float around in the tranny I could only guess what would happen.
