do it black or silver with the hi temp paint. Yes it will hold up just get the paint that withstands the most heat. Atleast 1500 degrees I would say. Or another option is get some steelwool and scrub away. Then itll be chrome like again
the steel whool will shine it and make it look chrome werather u had it chrome or not. and everytime i have used the hi temp paint it doesnt last long at all. and smells horible everytime you start up lol.
a whire wheel on the dripp works greatr for cleaning it up, than hit it with a mothers power ball or power cone with aluminum polish.. thats what i did on mine and looks almost new except for where the nickle coating is gone..
i have acan here.. and have used it on headers on cars, just got to make sure you follow the directions for curing other wise it wont last or hold up.. you can get it at your auto parts store for around 7 bucks... i think you can get orange and black also.. but the flat aluminum looks so much better..

thats why i posted the vht flame proof its made for exhaust's the high temp paints are made for like engine blocks and valve covers.. this stuff was designed for exhausts
