anyone tried the cheap ebay cameras? if so please let me know which ones and what you think of them . I would love a GO PRO but there to pricey for me at the moment , thanks!

Dualstroke and I both have ones from eBay for like $12, the helmet mounts are very cheap and required a Ty-rap to secure it,
But we've both taken some half decent vids with them, 2 1/2 hour record time on an 8 gig memory card, recharge from your computer,
I'll post a link and vids next time I'm on the laptop, phone right now

what you see in both of them, which i uploaded to youtube and used the "image stabilization" found in the "edit video" link on there, they were way worse than what you see without some youtube magic
although i do need to learn to keep lookin straight instead of always lookin back to see if everyone is keeping up < that'd make them a little better.
but nothing near what you get from a go-pro

i have a go pro wide (recently found out it wasn't hd like the seller told me) but i still like it. it has great quality and cost less than the hd, there is also a brand called contour (hd and non hd) and they're really good quality too. if i did it over again i would get a go pro hd or a contour (it had good enough quality where i wouldn't care if hd or not). i don't know if go pro hd sound quality is like mine or not but if it is then you have to turn your volume up pretty high to hear anything in the vids. hope this helps! also, did you end up getting that ltr450? if so did you get some pics/vids of it?

This may be a option if you open to suggestions. If your on a budget, i would just use any old digital camera or smaller video recorder. I have one i mounted to my handle bars and did a few runs with it and it was awesome no vibes at all. Great video. Was a lil big to go on the helmet tho. Cheap stuff for them, if you have a popular name brand camera im sure you could find a cover for them so it doesnt get ruined. Or just find a 20$ one on ebay or craigs.
I dont have any vids to show you of it because i only got to ride a few minutes on a open rode becuase i blew my topend and had to ride a friends bike.
Also do not solid mount it, make sure you mount it in some rubber washers you the mount has some movement. The tiny engine vibs is what distorts the quality not the big ones from the mount. If you get what im saying.

after going back through video, both the go pro non hd and hd have not so good sound quality (clear sound but is very quiet, requires turning your speakers up alot). the contour does a very good job on sound and video quality. it has the same video quality if not better than the go pro hd and you can hear what you record way better. if you have the spare funds, i'd go for the contour. here is a link to one, they're cheaper than the go pro as well.

I picked up an unopened contour HD1080 off of CL locally for $100. I've been using the goggle mount that came with it and it works great. Also has a fixed mount option. Takes nice videos even at the lower 760 setting without much vibration and it's compact in size if you need to slip it in your pocket.
