CFM Airbox + TRX400 rear shock

yes, the cfm actually makes mounting and running the 400ex and trx450r shock easier, it sits back further and even gave me room to relocate my rear hydro rezzie under there too, and you can see the marks on the shock rezzie where the stock box was rubbing, go for it............

I just want to know did you have to cut your stock air-box when you put the TRX400 shock in? I would also like to know does the shock require you to change anything on the mountings or does it fit right in?

It will work with the stock air box. You need the custom mounting bushings that Ken O'Conner sells and drill the bottom mount hole to 12mm.

Thanks for the help. Do you think I could make the bushings my self? The hole that needs to be drilled bigger is that on the shock or swingarm?
So you don't need to cut the bikes plastics at all? Do TRX400 and the TRX450 rear shocks have same dimension and is there a difference between them?

Yeah, you can easily have them made by a local engineering shop. Send Blaner a PM, he's got a 400EX rear shock in with custom bushings and is also here in RSA.

Only diffs between the 450R and 400EX shock is the location of the rezzie (slight offset on the 450R) but pretty much the same. Stock airbox plastic will rub a little, but its easily remedied with a heat gun and/or some sandpaper:)
