Cases turned black

Well, that's is the last time i trust my dad to put the engine cases through the dishwasher for me X( , he used a dishwasher tablet just like i told him not to do which has resulted in the cases turning dark grey / black. Just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of it quickly?
I've tried engine degreasers and mildly abrasive cleaners that i usually use on tough gunk on engine cases with no luck so far.

Thats weird, I did that with a set of banshee cases but it just made them have a hazy look..

I fear that you have discoloured cases for the duration.

Maybe some aluminum wheel acid? I would start with a very diluted concentration and don't leave it on for very long.

I can rub it and some comes off on my fingers so i think it may be possible to get rid of it.

It is a sort of hazy look but it has definitely made them look darker than before :-/
