Well finially got my cases split, and look what I found. Its a hole in case where crank shaft is. Got some play in bearing for counter balance and it must have hit side and made hole, and wore some on side to. In one of the pics you can see all the shavings in the corner. This started out as a engine that was getting too much air and didn't hold a leak down test, and I see why. So much for just replaceing gaskets and seals. I was kinda having fun on this project till this. Now what??? Do I have to replace both cases? I need some advice please! Thanks!

ouch that is bad man, if u are looking for a new bottom end i got one for sale, 100 bucks plus shipping, has a bad crank bearing, clutch and stator not included, shipping would prolly be 50 bucks though... lmk

that sux man! can you tell what caused it? you should only need to replace the side that is missing peices. however you might find that its cheaper to just buy a set. there is a set in the for sale section that you can make an offer on. be sure and lap your cases before you put them together if you only get one side. good luck!

just grab one of the bottom ends for sale on here and save some headaches

Who else has bottom ends? I posted in the wanted section, no replies.

Surfjag has a bottom end for sale too lol, no problem plugging my competition if they are good guys lol,

my cases are in good shape, on the outside that is. There was a decent rattle which i am assuming is a Big end bearing. It could be something stupid like a wrist pin i guess, but most likely a crank bearing, i will no likely by thye 18th, i havce a fosale thread with it in it heres the link:

thanks guys. With christmas here and everything else this month hopefully next month I can find a good deal on a bottom end.

When I get me a set of cases. Where do you guys recommend buying all the bearings? Is there a kit that has all the bearings for the engine? I haven't found any yet. I have already bought my seals including the oem crank seals, and a gasket set. So I would just need bearings. I would want to replace all of them so I don't have to go thru this again. thanks!

You probably don't need to replace any of the bearings but the main crank bearings. You would need to thoroughly check all of them to make sure but it's unlikely there's any damage to the transmission bearings. Unlike the main crank bearings, they run in oil bath all the time and rarely get damaged. If you can find a set of main crank bearings and seals, put those in and then check each of the other bearings. If they're smooth, rock on!
